- THE STORY
MILANO..., Creativity, Fashion, Design, has always been the fulcrum of the manufacturing economy in Italy... for Italy and for the world. Milan is also history, cultural and industrial. But the Milan that works is made up above all of the people, the Artisans, those who have contributed to the growth of the city since the early 1900s, and then helped it to be reborn after the war. The 50s and then the 60s. The city is a swarm of people among shops, laboratories and workshops... ingenious workshops that shape materials to create objects and components. Among these, Pistoni G.O.L. developed. (Geniale Officina Lavorazioni) a production company in the heart of the city, where the heart of the engine, the Piston, is created. From a simple manufacturer of spare parts for the after-market, it has become a point of reference for enthusiasts in the vintage motorcycle sector.
GOL Piston was born in 1968 when Mister Colombo took over the Companies S.AL.L. and *G.*O.*L . (*Geniale *Officina *Lavorazioni) These Enterprises was very well known in Milan as a specialized factory in the piston for engines production. The new leader oriented his own experience , dated 1955 , towards the mopeds, motorbikes, scooters and agricultural engines with a small/medium capacity sector. During the Seventies and for the following two decades, the Company developed its own product range focusing mainly on the two strokes-engine field, thanks to the huge popularity of this sector in that period. The Gol piston were then distributed all over Italy, Europe, North Africa, Middle East and Far East as well.
- THE CHOICE
During the second half of the Nineties the market of 2-strokes mopeds and scooters , manufactered in Europe , starts to experience a slow but significant decline , for made in Italy spare parts aftermarket too . As a consequence, the company had to change its objectives taking a very brave decision: instead of following the market trend to develop the four-stroke-engines as the biggest players were doing, the company chooses to address its own efforts to the VINTAGE sector. Between 1997 and 1999 the GOL company took over the DINAMIN Piston Society (founded 1949) and his totally Know-How. Both the production , foundry , machinering , assembling and the commercial departments are then based in MILAN . A lot of different products in terms of typologies and dimensions are stocked in the warehouse allowing a constant availability and immediate Worldwide deliveries .
- THE REALITY
The actual production is mainly focused on VINTAGE STYLE PISTON perfect suitables to two strokes 'n' four-strokes motorcycle engines manufactured between the 1940 and 2000. This Company retraces 60 years of the Italian and European motorcycle history. The legendary VESPA with the rival LAMBRETTA, the famous MOTOGUZZI, the fast GILERA, the sports MOTO MORINI, the glorious and winning MV-Agusta, the rampant FANTIC MOTOR, the multipurpose MOTORI MINARELLI, the great PUCH-ROTAX-SACHS-ZUNDAPP of the transalpine countries. A great part of these engines have regained their own glory and shine , thanks also the passion to this little artisan enterprise contribution .
